I have no way of seeing if the internet is connected or the signal is weak or strong. How can I have an icon for that purpose?

There is no connection icon in Firefox. The "Connection" is handled by the operating system, not Firefox.

Usually you can the signal strength or connection on the desktop of a computer. In my case I can't find any at all, or there is no selection from the tools for an icon.
