is there a current problem with firefox?
I'm logged into a online class through Foxfire and not able to exit the site. The site has an exit icon and when I click on it, nothing happens. I can not just close the window because I will loose the time spent on the class and will have to start the class over from the beginning. Is there a problem on your end or am I missing something?

What does the Exit button normally do -- log you out of the class? This is really hard to debug at a distance because there are many reasons that the button, which probably runs a little script, might not be working correctly.
Most of the usual methods for addressing this would require at least reloading the page. Do you know whether you can use Ctrl+r (or the reload button) to reload without causing problems for the application? If so, please try that. You also can try Ctrl+Shift+r, which forces Firefox to retrieve everything fresh from the server rather than relying on cached files.
Does that help with the Exit button?
You can clear the cookies from a website to get logged off.
With some page logging off may only work if third-party cookies are enabled (in such a case use the "From visited" choice in Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies).
Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.
