I was on Facebook and a video was posted. O tried to open the video and FTV Player popped up and want to update. The Bing Search bar was installed in Firefox at this time and I cannot figure out how to remove the unwanted search bar.

This happened

Just once or twice

== Facebook wanted to upgrade the FTV player on 05/03/10.

Windows update installed "Microsoft .NET 4 client profile" and after that Firefox started to redirect to Bing in place of Google. I removed it and everything is OK again.

Dear Mozilla Firefox developers, please to find a way to stop something similar happening in future, i.e. Firefox should not allow other programs to modify it, otherwise the security of Firefox can be overcome easily by other applications modifying Firefox and using it to access Internet. I would like Mozilla take a harsher approach toward Microsoft sneaky updates. I think it should be possible to tell Microsoft that they are not allowed to modify Firefox without prior permission from the users. Also Google should take a look at this, this can be used for an anti-trust lawsuit as Microsoft is using its operation system to force people to use Bing in place of Google.

Thanks
