I'm on a Mac, 10.6.7, Firefox 4.01 My application is set for an mp3 as "Use Quickime 7.6.6 plug-in in Firefox" or something like that. But every time I click on an mp3, Firefox downloads the mp3 before opening QT and letting me play it.

o.k., I've finally gotten Firefox to stream an mp3 - by setting *ALL* of my quicktime-related application prefs to "Always Ask", then selecting "Use Quicktime Player 7"....*NOT* "Use Quickime 7.6.6 plug-in in Firefox". It does stream the mp3, but it's still placing a download icon on my desktop for everyone that I play?! I play 20 mp3 - I get 20 desktop icons! ggrrrrrr.......
