I suddenly cannot print anything from the web on firefox. But I can print any of my documents

I tried to print from Safari from the internet (web) and it printed fine.

I need to be able to print from Firefox as that is where I receive my email, etc.

The link does not provide a solution to my problem. I am not able to print anything at all through firefox. Nor am i able to get any dialog at all to appear. Neither ctrl p or going to file>print [or any print options] does anything at all - nothing happens. I also don't have print.print_printer in my about:config list
