Firefox 48.0.1 crashes when I click on an Internet Shortcut for Facebook and Meraki Dashboard. I can open Facebook and it doesn't crash when I am in Firefox and enter facebook.com in the address bar. ONly from a shortcut.

I have 24GBRAM on Windows 10 Pro. All other URL's seem fine. I have disabled hardware acceleration, updated Flash Player, tried safe mode but nothing helps.

Can you explain what Meraki is in relation to this problem.

more options

The only relation is that Firefox crashes when I go to Meraki from a shortcut. The particular Meraki page lists all AP's that I have installed for a client.

more options

Whatever Meraki is it may be a fault with that.

As for facebook being ok when typed in but not from a shortcut then possibly something is wrong with the shortcut or bookmark used. Shortcuts can be corupted or may include additional parameters which may not be current. Often a shorcut's properties may be discovered from right click options and examining its properties.

Just make a new simple shortcut that is facebook.com

Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried that already and it still crashes. I don't have this issue with Chrome or IE so there must be something about the 2 pages that crash that FF doesn't like. Very frustrating because if I go to these pages from an email link, everything is fine. It's the shortcut that for some reason is a problem.

Using 49.0b7 version which solved the Facebook page issue. So, now a blank tab opens along with the FB page. Any idea how to not have this happen? I have reset FF to no avail.

Hi again roban, It is probably best to open a separate new question about that problem, but post back here once you have one so in order that we may follow and find it.

Please give full details of what you do that results in this problem being seen.
