When I type in an address or go to a bookmarked webpage, the address of the website is immediately deleted from the address bar after the page loads. It's really frustrating because the cursor defaults into the address bar after it is deleted so I can't back out of an page quickly, making browsing quite annoying. Any ideas on what this is?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You're welcome.

Can you tell us which Add-on caused the problem or how you solved it?

Oh, sorry! It was a problem with an 'xkit' extension.
