Hi, I have only ever reduced it, but you can try increasing it by the same method: Type about:config into the address bar, press Enter, accept the warning, scroll down the alphabetical list to browser.cache.disk.smart_size.enabled and double click the entry to change 'Value' from True to False then restart Firefox. Now look for browser.cache.disk.capacity (which has a default of 1048576 = 1.048576 GB), then right click > Modify, and enter the maximum size you want in KB, before restarting Firefox again.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please help other users by marking the best reply as Solved. Thank you!

Scribe, the solution you provided doesn't work (FF 73.0.1). I entered the number equivalent to 3GB and after restarting the browser the number returned to 153600 on its own in front of my eyes. I changed browser.cache.disk.free_space_hard_limit to 3072 and it remained at 3072 but disk.capacity keeps returning to the default number 153600.

@rado84: It's working for me on Fx 73.0.1. You MUST FIRST change browser.cache.disk.smart_size.enabled to False then RESTART FIREFOX.

Then after editing browser.cache.disk.capacity to the maximum KB you want, you MUST RESTART FIREFOX AGAIN.

If you don't restart exactly as above, the edit will not stick.

If you change any other cache entries it may not work.
