video downloadhelper 7 does not work on most of the sites now

I have the latest firefox and video download helper and where as the previous versions of the download helper worked perfectly at all of the sites I download from, this version only works on a couple. In some instances it changes from grey to colour and I click on it and it says "No media to process in the current tab". Yet the movie is playing.

You are correct, it is not compatible with Firefox 57+ There are alternatives : https://mozilla.github.io/extension-finder/ Start typing video downloadhelper 7 / download helper or copy paste into it for a list. Several I here are good. Ant... Can also search here : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/ do the same copy/paste : search is a little weird, results are in the drop down and does not remember what you are searching for when go back.

Some are still being coded for use on new Firefox and others that have been abandoned as not updated in 7-8yrs someone will come along and build one as they say.

Please update to 57.0.2 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-version

Thank you pkshadow. I am trying out other downloaders. I tried to update Firefox to 57.0.2 but didn't have any luck. The latest they had was 57.0.01 and I'm already using that. Appreciate the advice thanks again
