Sync doesn't work and I lost all data?
Hello, I just resetted my pc, and when I logged in with my Firefox Account, it didn't syncronize anything...I had nothing in it as it was a completely new account! Why? I remember I did something similar many months ago, but when I logged with my account, it did restore every data by itsellf, from bookmarks to extensions and addons (it even put the corrent theme I had at that time!). Why did I lose everything this time? Fortunately, before resetting I did backups of everything, so I didn't really loose everything (I was just lucky!), but I don't understand how this syncro thing should work... So, just to check more deepfully if it was me (xD) or what, I downloaded the app Firefox on my android device and logged in with my account (on the pc I had done already the syncro). Guess what? No data, again. Why??? What's the problem? Please help me T___T

Hi
Thank you for your question about the Firefox Sync service.
It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device (typically a mobile device such as a tablet or a telephone) running a copy of Firefox. The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.
If you have a copy of your Firefox profile for desktop Firefox, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and other data. Please have a read of this article.
If you have a copy of your data on a mobile version of Firefox, please follow these instructions to connect it to Firefox Sync to copy your data.
Hello, Thanks for your reply! I understand what you're saying, but then how do you explain the fact I can not synconize the browser version on my android device? As I said, I transferred manually my bookmarks on the browser version and Syncronized it, so now I should have these data on my android device as well, shouldn't I? But I have a blank account, with nothing in it...
ps. When you say the storage function is not stable enough, do you mean that sometimes the Syncro could actually work? Because I clearly remember that months ago Firefox did actually restore every data (without having copied it from any other devices).
