SAP webpage says that this versionFirefox 6.0.2 does NOT support them

I have a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8 provided by work. I need to use the company VPN to access the SAP web/software to record working time. This had always worked in the older version. Firefox automatically upgraded it one day to this 6.0.2 version without asking. Now I can't access SAP. Work says I need to downgrade to 3.0. How do I do this? Is there another solution?

I'm not personally familiar with the SAP software; perhaps someone else has some insight on that.

Firefox 3.0 is not secure, but you could downgrade to 3.6.22 if necessary.

Could you make your life easier by using Safari for the SAP software and keeping your Firefox 6 for everything else??

Safari doesn't work either and I do prefer Firefox.

How do I downgrade to 3.6.22 ?

I'm not sure on Mac. On Windows, the process to roll back is as follows:

First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Next, download and save Firefox 3.6 to your desktop for future installation. http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all-older

Close Firefox 6.

Here's where my Mac knowledge is especially fuzzy... You could install Firefox 3.6 over Firefox 6 (many have reported success) or you could uninstall Firefox first. If you uninstall, do not remove your personal data and settings, just the program.

Unless you have installed an incompatible add-on, Firefox 3.6 should pick up where you left off. If there are serious issues, please post back with details.

Note: I haven't actually tried this myself!
