For the past four days every e-mail I receive arrives with {SPAM} in front of it. I have tried every solution offered, including visiting the junk filter, where personal address is already ticked and I attempted, with no success, to also check collected addresses. When I attempted to post this information five minutes ago, I was told I was not authorized to do so, even though I had just spent 10 minutes setting up an account and clicked on the e-mail message (which cam in marked {SPAM] ) to confirm the account details. Should I just move on to another e-mail provider, even though Thunderbird has worked well for four years, or is there a fix? Hoping, of course, that the obviously confirmed account here - there is a header with my account - allows me to even ask the question now.

First off Thunderbird is not an email provider. It is email client software. Secondly it does not use the word Spam or modify the subject line. You need to check your antivirus software or your real email providers spam filtering.

The word 'Spam' is not used in or by Thunderbird. Someone else is doing this, most likely your ISP or Email Service Provider, or possibly your own security software. Thunderbird does NOT modify subject lines in email messages.

Thunderbird is your email client; a program that is installed on your computer. When I say "email service provider", I mean the organization who provide your email service. This could be your ISP, or one of the big free providers (outlook.com/live mail/hotmail, googlemail, yahoo, AOL, gmx etc etc). The part of your email address after the '@' usually tells you who operates your email service.

It doesn't matter which email client you're using if your ISP is categorizing your messages as 'Spam' for you.
