Are you going to fix the error message in this junk version of firefox?
Every computer I run with Firefox 54.0.1, regardless of the web page I'm trying to access, runs slower than IE, gives me a script error message (something like 'A script on a page is slowing your blah blah down'). I run Duck Duck Go on a couple of machines (I have 8 running at any given time: I run a home studio). I used to be a huge fan of Firefox but you're ruining it for me. I've disabled all the add-ons, done everything al of the forums tell me to and nothing works. You're going to lose a loyal customer if you don' get your defecation in sequence.

Suggest hang in there as version 55 beta is now very close to a final version. I am sure this will be addressed. I feel the frustration. Note: THAT Firefox 55 is due AUG 8th there or about ******
Since have lots of machines could try a beta version on 1. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/ this 55.11 Stable Release, but are at .15; so soon.
Can try this : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/warning-unresponsive-script
Also you have said you have tried things so a list of those would be great so we do not repeat things.
Unfortunately not enough info came with your question . Please list plug-ins/Extensions and also your AV program, It is known various AV/Firewall companies are having issues with your question and Firefox
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

When multi-process windows in Firefox is enabled then Firefox will use more memory and may be less responsive.
You can try this to see if it has effect:
- set dom.ipc.processCount to 1 if it is currently set to a higher value (4)
- disable multi-process windows in Firefox
You can disable multi-process windows in Firefox by setting these prefs to false on the about:config page.
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false
You can open the about:config page: via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
