I do a google search, get yhe results, click on a link, hit the back button, and get a blank google screen with no results from the search i just did. this is in firefox.

We're sorry to hear that Firefox is crashing. In order to assist you better, please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A Submitted Crash Reports list will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 5 most recent Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste that into the "Post a Reply" box.

This is a known issue that can happen if you have instant results enabled via the Google Search settings.

Try doing this. When you have a web page with several links you want to check out, select the first link, and open it in a new tab or window. Once you are done on the new page, close it an do the same to the next link.
