Whenever I open a new tab, I'd like to have the 9, 3x3 column pinning my favorite sites. How do I set it up? I know that at first, it shows most used sites but I can't even get there b/c there are no columns shown! Also, I have Google set up for new tab just for now, but whenever I open the new tab, my I-beam pointer is automatically after the Google url. Like this: address bar: "https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl(I-beam pointer here)" How do I set it up so that the i-beam pointer is in the Google search box?

See this article about the New Tab page (about:newtab):

You can check these prefs on the about:config page to see if they both have the default value and aren't bold (user set).

  • browser.newtab.url
  • browser.newtabpage.enabled

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
