When I try to print selection from a page in Firefox on my Mac, it prints the selection where it appears on the page. On the print menu, there is a frames section that is grayed out with the selection of "As laid out on Screen". How can I change this setting?

Yes, this can be annoying in some cases. A workaround is to remove the other content on the page and then print the selected content normally (instead of using Selection). To remove the other content, you can use this extension:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nuke-anything-enhanced/

As shown in the screenshots on the page, right-click the select and choose Remove everything else.

If the frames section is grayed out, that usually indicates that Firefox did not detect frames in the page. Most sites do not use frames any more, although many use iframes (inline frames). If you need to print just the content of an iframe, try right-clicking the framed area and using

This Frame > Print Frame...

Hi classicironinc, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately I do not have a printer that does this. Please check the advanced settings in the File print menu.

If this was not happening before please try to reset the printing options in Firefox. Fix printing problems in Firefox
