Since I began using Thunderbird on my new Dell Inspiron 15R laptop a few months ago I constantly receive "Thunderbird not responding" messages when opening or deleting emails. Emails download quickly and send quickly, but it takes a minute at a time to delete a message, and sometimes as long just to open one.

My last dell came with McAfee on it. McAfee has issues with Thunderbird and if it is installed will make Thunderbird slow, message deletion may even appear to freeze. Contact McAfee support and they will adjust settings to make it work like it should.
