Directions to delete search bar history by checking "Form & search history" do not work. Neither do directions to delete individual searches by scrolling down and hitting delete.

They appear to work but when starting a new search the history comes right back.

Make sure that you do not get confused by the "Search suggestions".

The "Search Suggestions" are not your search history.

I have noticed that this seems to be related to certain websites, including CNN.com If my search & form history box is unchecked, and I have done everything to try to make it a checked box but it will not allow me to click a checkmark on the Search Form history box in order to have ALL the boxes checked so they ALL delete for Privacy, If I do a search related to "firefox, search form history unchecked" and then go back to retry the boxes, this somehow makes ALL the boxes become checked. But if I then go to CNN.com and then try to delete all the checked boxes on privacy, the Search & Form History box is AGAIN unchecked, but if I do another google or mozilla search for "firefox, search form history unchecked" and then go back to redo deleting the checked boxes on Privacy, the Search Form History box reappears with a check mark in it, when all other attempts to make a checkmark in it failed. It seems to be related to websites such as CNN.com and others like it.
