I have a login screen and the submit button triggers an ajax call to load the logged in user's landing page. If he enters invalid credentials FF asks if he wants to save the login credentials too, how do I prevent FF from doing this.

Basically, you can't. Firefox has no way of knowing if the login is valid or not, so it can't determine whether or not to ask about saving the login. If the login is invalid, you can dismiss the popup box by clicking the X in the top right corner.
