I want to open an "mbox" file using Mozilla thunderbird. When I open the file my computer prompts me to select a program to open it. I select thunderbird, thunderbird opens and then an empty email message box appears. The file I want to open appears on the side of the message box as an attachment. When I click on the file, another empty email message box opens with the file on the side as an attachment. This happens continuously. How do I open the file so that I can view its contents?

Use a text editor or import it into Thunderbird with this add-on. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
