Bookmarks keep getting mixed up
For a few days now, bookmarks in the bookmark toolbar keep mixing up- some folders disappear, some refuse to open, bookmarks in folders travel from one to another, things like that. It happens every few hours, seemingly at random, and every time i recover them from a previous day i a get 'script is busy' message. I dont have any new extensions or plugins as far as im aware and im using the latest firefox version (44.0). as i have many bookmarks (>1000) i have tried deleting some, but it didnt have any affect. it happened before a few months ago, but the issue resolved itself after a day or so, something that doesnt seem to be happening now.
Chosen solution
Do you use Sync in Firefox or an add-on that would affect bookmarks? I can only see your Plugins in the details, so Extensions are missing.
If Sync gets confused (bad timestamps, for example) you may get a little bit of mayhem in bookmarks. The solution here is to back up bookmarks manually, turn Sync off, reset/change Sync password and re-enable Sync. This will scramble the encryption key and delete all previous Sync data.
1000 does sound like a lot, so if they reside on a slow or heavily loaded device, they might not be saving correctly (i.e. changes do not get committed in time).

Phoxuponyou - thank you for a quick reply. I am in fact using sync, so i tried doing what you suggested- im not entirely sure if it fixed the problem yet, but im hopeful. Would turning bookmark sync off prevent this problem in the future, or would i need to turn it off completely?
Let's hope that was it - simply disabling bookmark sync should be enough, if you can pick and choose what to synchronise, but Sync can be an unruly beast at times.
Phoxuponyou - im pretty sure it worked, as it hasnt happened again. thanks for the help!
You're welcome, glad I could help.
