I am using Linux Mint 17.3 with FireFox 47. When I view a video in any page except YouTube, the audio volume is fine. When I try to run a video in YouTube, the video runs but the audio goes to 0. I have checked the system volume control and it will allow me to adjust the volume up but at the end of each segment (when ads are there ) or at the end of the video, it resets to 0. I have also tried running videos in Google Chrome and there is no audio issue.

Did you check the volume setting in the HTML5 media player?

Firefox may store such data in a cookie or in localStorage. You can check localStorage in the Web Console ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer).
