"An error occurred during a connection to mg.mail.yahoo.com. The OCSP response is not yet valid (contains a date in the future). Error code: SEC_ERROR_OCSP_FUTURE_RESPONSE".

What the heck does this mean and what should I do about it?

You can check the date and time and time zone in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

Hi lctom, that error usually means that your computer's clock is running a little behind the rest of the world. That's why when Firefox asked for verification of the SSL certificate for your mail site, the response seemed to come from the future.

There are many possible reasons for the clock to be off. Sometimes it's an issue with falling back from Daylight Savings Time, other times it is a huge thing like having the correct date and time but the previous year. If your computer is synchronizing time with the internet, that sometimes causes the problem.

Can you take a look at yours and compare with a reliable source? Usually double-clicking the time on the Windows Task bar will take you to the relevant dialog.
