I do not want Firefox to ask me to remember the password for certain sites. No matter how many times I click "never remember" it keeps asking at every log in. I do not want to disable this feature all together in the options under security. I use it for other sites I am not concerned about. I just want it to stop asking at places I desire more security over.

Hi PappaBoxer, Firefox should retain that setting. It should show up in an "Exceptions" list you can view on the Options page. Could you check two things for me:

(1) Is the Exception saved?

After clicking Never on the panel, open up the Options page and see whether it was recorded as expected.

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Security. Then on the right side, across from the checkbox to remember logins, click the Exceptions button. Is Google recorded there?

(2) Is the Exception being cleared when you close Firefox?

Firefox has an optional feature to remove history when you close it. This feature covers numerous categories of data, one of which is site-specific exceptions. Let's make sure you aren't clearing those every time you exit Firefox. This is on a different section of the Options page:

"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options

In the left column, click Privacy. Then on the right side, if you do not see a lot of detailed settings, choose "Firefox will: Use custom settings for history" to reveal them.

If there is NOT a checkmark for "Clear history when Firefox closes" then you do not have this problem and you can close the Options page.

If there IS a checkmark for "Clear history when Firefox closes" then click the Settings button to the right of that. Make sure that "Site Preferences" is NOT checked in this list, or else you'll keep losing your Exceptions.

Does any of that help with the problem?
