I have an issue with my wordpress site that only occurs in firefox.

When I try and edit a page, on any page editor when I select an element and move it, it does not position when I release the mouse, it gets stock to where my mouse is moving.

See attached .mov file: https://vid.me/0DFA

I have disables all firefox addons, restarted on safemode, cleared cookies and cache.

Is this a recent problem or have you always had this problem with Visual Composer in Firefox?

There seems to be a problem with the author's site at the moment (link from http://wpbakery.com/ gives a 502 Bad Gateway error) so I can't get into the live preview to try it myself.

Can you tell what version you have? I found this release history and I imagine the newer versions have a better chance of being fully compatible:

  • 17 Nov 2016 - ver 5.0.1
  • 9 Nov 2016 - ver 5.0
  • 7 Sept 2016 - ver 4.12.1
  • 8 June 2016 - ver 4.12
  • 15 April 2016 - ver 4.11.2.1
  • 7 April 2016 - ver 4.11.2
  • 16 March 2016 - ver 4.11.1
  • 10 March 2016 - ver 4.11
  • etc.

Thanks for your response, it only happens on Firefox, Chrome and Opera is working fine, and it's not only Visual Composer I have another wordpress site with their theme developers own page builder and the same thing happens.

I'm not having an issue logging into http://wpbakery.com

I am using Firefox 50.1.0

Let's try to solve one at a time. If you check the Plugins list in your WP, what version of Visual Composer shows up there?

I'm not having an issue logging into http://wpbakery.com

If you scroll down on that page it's the link to the Visual Composer subsite that doesn't work for me: http://vc.wpbakery.com/

I have the Version 5.0.1, it's the latest.

I signed up for a test drive of Visual Composer and tested it out in the "Backend editor" (embedded) and "Frontend editor" (separate window, very slow to load). In Firefox 50.1.0 on Windows 7, it seems to work as intended. To compare with your video, the dragged element will snap back to its original position if i try to drop it somewhere that doesn't have a lightly shaded landing zone. I don't have a sense of why releasing the mouse button is not working on your Firefox to cancel the drag-and-drop operation.

Is this a more general problem? For example:

  • If you select a URL on a page and then try to drag and drop it on the address bar to load it, does that work?
  • If you select a word on this page and drag it to the search box in the header bar of the page and release there, does it work?

When I search for this issue, there are a surprising number of old posts by Mac users, but also a very diverse set of "this worked for me" fixes with no clear explanation of what is going on. Could you see whether any of these ring a bell?

Thanks for your response, it;'s just odd it only happens in firefox. When I edit wordpress in chrome it's fine.
