I am using Firefox for many years now through all its editions so far. The newest edition Firefox Quantum v.57.0 (64-bit) which was installed without asking me first, is significantly slower (at least in my computer) than the previous non-quantum one. I noticed the delay on https://gr-mg42.mail.yahoo.com , which is the yahoo emailing site. I checked the same site with Google Chrome (I can't check it with previous version of firefox anymore) and indeed Chrome was at least 2 times faster. My computer is fast, with plenty of RAM and HD space and I am running Windows 10. I will stop using Firefox and switch to Chrome for the moment, waiting for something to be done very soon (maybe some bug fixes). If this will not happen, then I will switch to Chrome permanently, after all these years of happy Firefox surfing.

hi, that's just a guess but since your graphics driver is from 2015 maybe it helps performance if you get it up-to-date: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26813/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=81501

I didn't need to upgrade the firmware with the previous version of Firefox nor with Chrome.

I installed the latest intel drivers. Chrome is still faster than Firefox Quantum. Some yahoo email messages don't open at all in Firefox on the first try. I have to click them again to be opened.

maybe also some old leftovers in your profile could play a part in this, so perhaps a refresh can help in this regard: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

The point is that the Firefox Quantum is significantly slower than the previous version in the Yahoo emailing site (and maybe others too). It's not about my computer; it is about Firefox. Since no bug fix was suggested, I started using Chrome.

Just for the record, your Yahoo mail link, which I use, opens in a flash in my Fx 57. As do the emails etc.
