A background firefox task uses 65% of CPU. Even when I close all tabs and windows, the whole appl. I have to force quit it. Firefox 57.0.4 (64bit) OSX10.12.6. This happens every day. On Windows 10, I've the same issue. Looks like a bug or an intended annoying feature. Currently, this page is the only open page in my Firefox. The foreground firefox task uses 4% CPU with 67 threads. The background firefox task uses 65% of CPU with 1 thread.

And how was your FF installed on both machine?

As an update. Auto update is enabled. Originally I downloaded the installer; this was before the quantum release.
