Since last update Facebook social media counter not working on my website. No problem with other browsers
The Facebook social media counter is not working on my website since the last update to the browser..
I just presumed the problem was with WordPress. When I asked my WP guy, he went to the website using Chrome and he had no problem.
Whilst on the phone, I opened the website with Chrome and Edge and found there is no problem with other browsers. I then tried the websites of two friends and had the same issue, but nothing wrong using other browsers.
So it appears to be right back in the lap of Firefox. Any help please. If all help fails I will have to call the UK or the US from Australia.
Chosen solution
I am not game to do this. My WordPress guy would probably do it for me but I can't afford it.
Thanks for your help, but I will have to live with it.

Hi, so who are you going to be calling ?
No info was sent on Extensions or Video card drivers or...
So please try this : Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
- Click the menu button , click Help and select Restart with Add-ons Disabled.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
- On Windows: Hold the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- On Mac: Hold the option key while starting Firefox.
- On Linux: Quit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox -safe-mode
(you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme, or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps in the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article to find the cause.
To exit Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help others with the same problem.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.
- make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
Firefox shows the shield icon at the left end of the location/address bar in case content is blocked by Tracking Protection.
- click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection
- check the Web Console for more detail about what content is blocked by Tracking Protection
- "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Web Developer
I really do not understand any of this.
You say "make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version".... WHERE PLEASE?
The only Add_on I have is Shock wave "ask to activate"
There's a small box next to the padlock. It says PERMISSIONS underneath that " Received notifications blocked"
Otherwise I have no idea what it all means
