My Firefox is updated to the latest version. I have Mega extension. I usually download from Mega.nz and this problem never occurred. But lately, whenever I download from Mega and it finishes 100%, Firefox slows down. It eats up to 2GB of memory from my PC which really affects my PC's performance. I thought that the reason for that was because whenever Mega finishes download, it prompts a window that asks what to do with the file I'm downloading (whether to open or save it), but I have changed Firefox setting to automatically download .rar files (which is the file I'm usually downloading) and the slowing down still persists. I don't know if it has something to do with the size of the file I am downloading which is around 500MB - 2GB. Kindly enlighten me for the reason why this is happening and if there is a fix for this. I love Firefox and wouldn't want to change browsers.

Separate Security Issue, please update your Flash 28.0 r0 by removing it with this tool : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html If you use it Reinstall with Flash Player Version: 30.0.0.134 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Hi, do you have any add-ons/Extensions installed for security ? What extensions do you have ? What Security Software are you running.

When lets say a A/V program is scanning your downloaded file it is probably holding Firefox hostage. Or https://www.malwarebytes.com/ give your self a scan.

Windows 7 so possibly a older system : To be Checked and turned off unless needed for accessibility : Please : go to the Firefox 3 Bar Menu --> Options --> Privacy & Security panel and under Permissions check (put a tick in the box) the setting to Prevent Accessibility Services from accessing your browser.

Multi-Processor Support : Go to the 3 Bar Menu then Options --> General --> Performance and untick everything. change the recommended size lower then see how it runs. Note: 1 = No Multiprocessor = slow again. Try 2 Restart Firefox after making these changes please. Note : Hardware Acceleration is for Video Card, Monitor to see if remain off or to turn back on.

Only Disable as last resort.

Multi-processor Can completely disable it this way in about:config : dom.ipc.processCount set to 1 browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false

Only move to esr if low ram and old system.

Firefox Extended Release Version : Firefox ESR does not come with the latest features but it has the latest security and stability fixes.

If do please :

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Will do the security update later.

To answer your questions, No, I don't have any security extensions installed. The only extension I have is Mega. I only have Bitdefender Anti Ransomware on my system. I'll try to uninstall this to see if the issue still persists.

Did the Prevent Accessibility Services setting change on Firefox. Will check what'll happen.

Will keep you posted.
