Currently the choice is "light" and "dark" - this maps directly to the appearance settings in macOS mojave - is it possible to add a third "auto" option which will use the Appearance setting, and change automatically when the general system preference changes?

Do the Dev Tools have their own themes? For the rest of the browser, Firefox's "Default" theme should follow the Mojave system theme, although there may be specific details that still need debugging.

If you don't find a solution here, try the DevTools forum:

Yes, they do have their own theme (the choice is Dark and Light) - thanks for the tip, I'll check out that forum.
