How do I fix a search bar and address bar that is not highlighting the selected text?

more options

When I attempt to highlight text in the search bar and address bar the text is not being highlighted. I know I am selecting the text because when I attempt to replace it with new characters the old text that is supposed to be highlighted is gone and replaced with the new ones. However, I cannot see what I highlight since the the typically blue highlight is not appearing. Even when I use keyboard shortcuts such as command + A to select all the text is not highlighted.

Hi MirandaHolt, your Firefox reported it is running on 10.14, which I think is Mojave. Firefox is still adapting to the new themes and you might need to experiment a bit. If you try switching among the built-in "Default", "Light", and "Dark" Firefox themes, can you find any that work well for you? This article has the steps for that: Built-in themes in Firefox - alternative to complete themes.
