Did he make a backup first?!

Generally speaking, all your Firefox data is stored locally on disk, so without a backup, or ability to recover data from the wiped disk (maybe Recuva?), the data is gone.

If you had set up a Firefox Account and stored data using the Sync service, that sometimes allows recovery. Does that ring a bell?
