If all you want is Google on your new tab, just make sure Google is set as your default search engine, then set the new tab to Firefox Home, and then hide everything but the search engine field. Exactly the same as just going to Google.

You must be putting me in that 0.01 % of users. I prefer blank windows because I use Firefox for so may diverse purposes. "separate" "home button=custom url" from "new window=blank" This has worked for years! I WANT Firefox to open with all blank windows but I WANT to be able to click the Home button for my 'home' URL
