Biometrics and Firefox

Hi, is possible in Firefox to use biometrics (e.g fingerprint) to unlock your passwords in Lockwise or use it for login, etc.? Or it's planned in some next releases? (on Windows 10)

Thanks for answers!

Hi

Biometrics like a fingerprint (Windows Hello,PIN) isn't a real replacement for the Primary Password because the PP encrypts the passwords stored in logins.json in the profile folder and thus gives better protection.

Firefox does support this feature, but it hasn't been enabled.

  • about:config => signon.management.page.os-auth.enabled = true

Ok, so if I decide to use the biometrics (instead of the PP), my passwords stored locally on my PC will not be encrypted anymore?
