Firefox no longer uses outside programs for a player. It uses the built-in HTML5 player.

All Firefox v52+ Releases disables all plugins including Flash Why do Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat and other plugins no longer work? {web link}

The Media Player extension for Firefox that FredMcD gave you a link to, is the same extension for Chrome (same developer and all):

I know, that's why I gave you a link to the Chrome extension and why I wanted to point out that both the extensions for Firefox and for Chrome are the same (developed by InBasic).

But you already got all the help you need from FredMcD, so just ignore mys posts .....

Just to clarify, this is the post I was referring to :

Late last year, I looked at what was available at the time and it seemed there wasn't an extension that worked the way the Chrome toolbar button works. There was one for global audio control, but none for global video control. Not sure what might be new out there.

Oh thank you. i properly don't need it. it would been great to have it but it really not necessary.
