Calendar events won't dismiss or delete

I can't "dismiss" my calendar events. Most all events have reminders that pop up--handy. But when I try to dismiss them, the window goes away, but then comes back again within minutes. They NEVER go away.

I've tried to delete the event itself, and it refuses to be deleted. It will disappear from my calendar, but then repopulate, again, within minutes.

I'm running TB 102.6.1 (64-bit) on the release channel (perhaps *that's* the issue...) with Provider for Google Calendar as one of my few extensions (only five in all...). I'm hesitant to disable Provider as that means I get no calendar at all (at least, no Google Calendar).

Ideas?

Thunderbird supports CalDAV natively, the Provider add-on is no longer needed. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1396346
