Trying to setup a new mail account in Thunderbird, it finds the configuration in Mozilla ISP database (POP3) but does accept the password. Yet I can setup OK Yahoo Mail with same address and password

Generally i find most issues like this are driven by antivirus programs and their "protections" and software firewalls A particular raw nerve for me is the Norton product which basically blocks the wizards probing as a hack. Others need special self signed certificate installed to scan mail and block account setup until their certificates are manually installed.
