Why won't Firefox 3.6.9, run on my computer?

I ran Firefox 3.6.8 on my computer all the time and it ran just fine. However, when it updated to Firefox 3.6.9, it now won't run on my computer. I get an error message after waiting several minutes and trying to load a webpage that always says, "Your connection has timed out." Any idea what might have caused this or what I can do to fix this issue. I've tried reinstalling as well. edit

This may be caused by a Firewall blocking the new version of Firefox. See Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can
