I can no longer open a new tab either by clicking on it or using the File/New tab command.

I used to be able to open a new tab by clicking on the plus sign to the right of already open tabs. For some reason this function has stopped working. I have also tried "File/New tab" with equal lack of success.

Try uninstalling the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.

I checked control panel/add remove programs. Could not locate the ask toolbar.

Help, please
