it still doesn't work. It was working fine when I shut down for the night about 3 weeks ago, but not the next morning. Haven't been able to open it since. I have to use Internet Explorer if I want to open Yahoo! Mail. It's the only site I have trouble with. Was still using the previous version of Firefox when this first happened. Still does the same thing with the new version. I've already contacted Yahoo! and there are no problems with my account.

Looks like I'm back in business. I also had that same error message in a pane on the right hand side of My Yahoo!. Today there was an ad there for the new Yahoo! Mail Beta. I clicked on the Mail button in my Yahoo! Toolbar and I was able to open my inbox for the first time in a month.

Here we go again!!! I've once again lost Yahoo! mail. From what I've seen in Yahoo! Answers a lot of people are having problems with it as well. It sounds like a Yahoo! thing because others using IE can't access it either. It's been going on for weeks. Some kind of server problem.

Try upgrading to the new version: http://ca.features.mail.yahoo.com/

Uninstall Panda AV Toolbar and URL seek. - there appears to be an incompatibility when all three of Panda, Firefox and Yahoo Mail are involved.

I don't think I have the Panda AV Toolbar and URL seek. It doesn't sound familiar to me. I didn't see it in my programs list either. I did come across another link for Yahoo! Mail Beta and it's the only way I can open Yahoo! Mail in Firefox. The new Yahoo! Toolbar is not compatible with FF4 and the Mail links in Yahoo! and My Yahoo! won't open Yahoo! Mail either. Here's the link that lets me open it in Firefox 4. I just came across it this morning in Yahoo! Answers. It sounds like Yahoo! engineers are still working on a fix.

It probably has something to do with the new version Yahoo is launching.

Anyway, glad to hear you found a workaround.

I was using the mobile application to open mail but it's kind of a bare bones way to do it. It doesn't support pictures and you can't create new folders. I think forwarding might have been a problem, too. Because the new version of Yahoo! Toolbar is incompatible with FF4 it wouldn't let me download it. Hope they find a fix. I've used Yahoo! and Firefox for a while now and haven't had any hangups until now. Thanks for your assistance.

What are those two plugins you have installed which are only identified by numbers? They're called respectively, 1.9.0042.0 and 12.0.1.609. A Google search comes up with key generators for both but that might not be the case.

if they're not important to you, click the orange Firefox button, go to Add-ons, then Plugins and click the "Disable" button for both to see if it makes any difference.

Just got a new computer yesterday and guess what? Yahoo! Mail works! My old computer was 5 years old and could there have some kind of hardware or software incompatibility issues involved also?? My old computer was running Windows XP Service Pack 3. Now begins the process of transferring files!!

I get 404 messages constantly, not only for whole pages but for blocks inside pages. If I go to http://www.cnn.com, I get a 404. If it loads, half the page has 404 messages throughout. I write for Examiner and when I'm trying to post an article, I get most of the way through and when I click "Publish" I get a 404 message and have to start all over. The same happens with most news sites. I LOVE Firefox and try to convert others, but they, too, get 404 messages. It's getting to the point where I have to switch to Safari because the "404 page not found messages" when the pages are definitely there are incessant. This really has to get fixed if you don't want to start losing serious market share. This has been an on-going problem now for at least two years. I've reported it before several times and it falls on deaf ears. Enough. Please address and fix it. It's constant, even on Google.

I have just had the same problem with Yahoo (Apache error- logging into Yahoo account). This started in the last few days. It would appear that a rogue tool bar (Babylon - I think) had changed my browser settings. Resetting it to the "No proxy" setting (Tools/Options/Advanced/Settings/No Proxy) seems to have resolved the problem. IE was not affected and uses no proxy settings.
