You can solve in about:config +browser.showQuitWarning = true +browser.tabs.warnOnClose = true +browser.startup.page = 1 (not set equal 3)

Thanks for the reply concerning the problem I'm having, the config file had all options set no changes maid to file, is there any way to reset the file to default.

You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session.

There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.

Another possibility is to use:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

You can set the warn prefs on the about:config page to true via the right-click context menu or toggle the value with a double left-click.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

What are you trying to do?

Are you closing the browser or only closing one window?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See:

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

See:

You will have to redo the warning prefs are posted above to get the warning.
