I have the option to open to windows in tabs and I love that. My problem is when I type a URL in the address bar, instead of it loading it on that page it opens a new page. No matter what kind of page I am at it does that. When I CTRL+T to open a TAB, then type in the address bar and it opens a new TAB. Leaving the previous TAB I opened untouched. I would just like for it to load on the page I entered it on.

Do you have that problem when running in the Firefox SafeMode?
A troubleshooting mode.
You can open the Firefox 4.0 SafeMode by holding the Shft key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut. Or use the Help menu item, click on Restart with Add-ons Disabled... while Firefox is running.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut to open it again.

If not, see this:

I'm an idiot and you are a genius. I found out what the problem was by disabling the addons. Thank you so much.

You're welcome.

Seems to be due to an extension called Tab Utilities, changed this annoying Hell behavior in about:config by toggling extensions.tabutils.openurlintab

I had an addon named 'Super Tab Mode'. It had an option that did what I was trying to stop. So I turned it off.
