Before I downloaded updated version of Firefox I had copy and paste. Now that I've downloaded the new version there is no copy and paste - how can I access it?

Were you using the Edit menu, or right-click? If your entire menu bar is missing: You can temporarily display the menu bar in Firefox 4 by pressing F10. To display it all the time, right-click after the "+" button and choose Menu Bar.

You can find the Copy, Paste, and Cut buttons in the Edit menu and the Edit sub menu in the Firefox menu.

You can also find them as toolbar buttons in the toolbar palette in the Customize window and drag them on a toolbar.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
