This started happening with a number of users just this week.

We need to figure which plugin is causing that.

Tools > Addons - Plugins - disable one Plugin and then restart Firefox to see if that solves it, try disabling them one by one and finding the culprit, then post here, please.

Thank you.

See if either the Flash Plugin or the QuickTime Plugin is causing that - disable one & then restart Firefox and then the other. Please let us know the results.

I think this will solve that problem with the Plugin Check page.

Type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter.
If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Pref = plugins.update.notifyUser if it shows as True, double-click that pref to toggle it to False

That pref was new to the Firefox 3.6 version and is present in later versions.

I am using Adobe Reader 9 and not Adobe Reader X. X has issues and does not work properly. I want firefox to stop telling me that this version is outdated and the plugin check page to stop coming up at startup. This is ridiculous. I checked the plugins updated others that needed updating and yet I cannot get the page to go away.

This issue was caused by a bug to blocklist plugins and that has been fixed.
You can correct this issue by forcing the file blocklist.xml to update or wait until Firefox updates the blocklist.xml file during the next hours.
That update will remove the severity="0" flags in the file that had caused the problem.
