The most convenient method is to export to a file, then copy/email the file, then import from the file. The most straightforward format is the HTML format. These articles describe the steps:

Old PC: Exporting bookmarks to an HTML file | How to | Firefox Help.

New PC: Importing Bookmarks from an HTML File | How to | Firefox Help

Please note: the menu item formerly named "Organize Bookmarks" is now known as "Show All Bookmarks" in Firefox 4 and 5.

Thank you very much. Saves a lot of work and time when you know what to do instead of guessing and wasting time and/or losing data by doing it wrong. Thanks again. Chuck
