Is there a reported bug reporting when text boxes need to be completed online, (such as this one); the boxes outline is too faint to see clearly?

The outline for this text box is so faint I can hardly see it. On most sites (my schools, craigslist or ebay even....) I can not see the outline of the box where text should be entered. Suggestions? I've tried changing the settings -- but it does not help and the settings revert back to the ghost like images.

The text area on this website uses a rather faint background image to show it (actually it hides the border of the text area: #question-reply textarea{background:none;border:none;margin:15px 0 0;resize:vertical;}).
Other web pages may also use CSS code for text areas that causes them harder to see.

You can test that by (temporarily) disabling website colors.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [ ] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

You try the NoSquint extension to set font sizes (text/page zoom) and text colors on web pages.

2 issues with this solution. First, it removes all graphics from the page - this is no good for my school. Second, it works for the page I am on at the moment when I request the change however if I leave the page/tab the previous settings return. So this won't work either -- anything else you can think of? Thank you for the input - greatly appreciated

You could try doing the following if you think it might help.

  1. If you can't see the text links at the top of the toolbar, press the ALT key.

  2. Next, click View | Page Style and choose "No Style"

  3. The page will revert to the way it looks in the screenshot.

  4. To revert to the previous view, repeat step 2, but choose "Basic Page Style" which is the default setting.

It may help you see the outline of the message box.
