1) First of all Download & Install Firefox 3.6.19. This version and Firefox 5.0.x are the only Stable and Still Maintained versions of Firefox.

2) Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed. NET_mmhpset was added by some piece of Comcast software. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Agent

type about:config in the URL bar and hit Enter If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page. Filter = general.useragent.extra.firefox Right-click that preference and select Reset. Now Restart Firefox.

3) Your User Agent shows that you have the Ask Toolbar installed. The Ask Toolbar is causing many problems in Firefox versions. Uninstall that extension. There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:

  • Restart Firefox

Check and tell if its working.
