Firefox stopped autofilling my stored user names and passwords, after weeks and doxens of times resetting "remember passwords for sites" in Tools-Options-Security it started remembering and filling in again, today it will not autofill/reset again?

Well, Firefox just asked/and remembered my user name and password for this, but I have another window open, for gmail, I tried but Firefox would not fill in the user name and password that I have saved and listed in my Tools-Options-Security.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
