On the tool bar, under Tools, Options, what settings for the various internet browser option tabs (General, Tabs, Content, Applications, Privacy, Security and Advanced (I'm not concerned with the Sync tab right now) are considered best practices by Firefox? I know what I think they are, but I would like a second opinion. I am using Windows XP Professional edition. My internet service provider is Time Warner (Roadrunner).

They all are settings that are up to you. Updates are recommended to be automatic (you should update to Firefox 2 BTW), Under Security I'd leave all the checkboxes checked in the top section (about warning and blocking), but really it is all up to you, Make Firefox your own. I would leave the advanced settings at their default state, just as they are for advanced users.
