In hotmail, my cursor is jumping all over; my cut/paste and spell check doesn't work since I upgraded to Firefox:(

I upgraded to the next level of Firefox, began an email in my hotmail account. Halfway thru my email, the cursor was jumping and disappearing:( I had to keep retyping the same words/sentences. When I saved the draft again, then returned to continue typing, the words/sentences were jumbled/misspelled. I actually apologized to the intended recipient, explaining my situation.

I had to retype the same email 5x before sending.

Can I return to the previous version of Firefox? New and improved isn't cutting it for this email guru.

The strange thing is - this is only happening in hotmail; my other email accounts are fine.

Thank you:((

Hi there, again, madperson

Didn't fix anything; however, at the moment, FF is behaving itself. Perhaps it needed time to energize/launch; whatever. I never look in a gift horse in the mouth.

Managed to change homepage back to yahoo.com

Again, many thanks and have a gr8 weekend.

PS: Breaking News:) Also, for the record, just want to share with others users that housecleaning our laptops (deleting jump/temp files) on a regular basis is as important as Spring/Fall cleaning our homes.

My laptop is now running faster.

Happy again:)

hello pixip0wer, can you try to reset firefox and see if it's working correctly afterwards? (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)

Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings

Hi madperson

Thank you for your response and suggestion. Before I reset the upgrade Firefox, please know that my laptop is running way too slow as a result of the upgrade:(((

I will try to reset Firefox; if it doesn't work, then I'll try to uninstall the upgrade and continue with the previous version.

Either way, will keep you posted.

Again, many thanks for your input......

Hi again, madperson

Sorry to say that resetting Firefox just made it worst:(((((((( My laptop is running terribly soooo - you could grow a beard waiting:((((((

I'm going to uninstall the upgrade and try to reactivate the previous version / if the old FF doesn't work, then I'll have no choice but to change to another server.

A message to Firefox: Time to step up to the plate and right the wrong! Upgrade isn't always new and improved.

Very unhappy pixip0wer here!!!

sorry to hear that - could you tell us which security related programs are running on your system?

Actually, I'm floating without a lifeboat:((( My Norton expired and I'm still purchasing another one. Norton gave me a free interim "safe web" until I purchase the real deal.

Also, have a McAfee Security thingy.

ok, there are some which are known to cause slow down, but i don't think those are among them. however please make sure that firefox.exe & plugin-container.exe have access to the internet in the firewall settings and don't get sandboxed in any way.

here's an article which covers some further troubleshooting steps, if you can pin down the symptom of the slowness: Quick fixes if your Firefox slows down

you could also uninstall your flash plugin and downgrade to flash 10.3 (which is still maintained by adobe), because the current version has performance issues in some situations...

Again, madperson, thank you so much for your mega informative response:)

I'll check out the article on making Firefox faster.

Also not a fan of the Google Home Page. I prefer Yahoo; hence, trust I still have the option when all this "fun" stuff is finally settled.

Will keep you posted on this pixip0wer's progress.....
